Packing Tips For Key West

Eating Your Way through the Florida Keys

Review: Port St. Luci, Florida

Marathon, Florida: Turtle Hospital

So on the way down, we broke the SEVENTEEN AND A HALF hour drive into four days. The first night, we stayed in Enterprise, AL (someone - me - thought it would be fun to visit the Enterprise car place in Enterprise, Alabama), and got there at about 10 pm, and left at 8 o'clock the next day. On Saturday, we got up early, left by eight, and then drove through Tallahassee, Gainesville, and Orlando before finally stopping in Port St. Lucie for the night. Thats where we had one of the best meals I've ever had in my life, but more on that in a future post! Sunday, we made the pretty short trip from Port St. Lucie to Marathon, and made it there in time for lunch! Thats where we visited the Turtle Hospital! Then on Monday we drove the rest of the way to Key West!

MARATHON

We had lunch at the Cracked Conch and it was so good!! The staff was so friendly and as a Cubs fan, I loved the Wrigley Field sign! I'll talk about them again when I post about eating my way through Key West! This is also the day we visited the Turtle Hospital!

KEY WEST

I really enjoyed Key West, but I definitely think it is a busier, more fast paced, vibe than some of the other keys. As a millenial young adult in my twenties, It was also fun to explore Duval Street and the downtown/bar scene of the city.

The resort felt like we were in the jungle! It was incredible!

I loved the Rococo architecture here at the Strand Theatre! (Also, happy birthday, Paul Delotero!)

Pretty trees!!! My best friend/practically brother Andrew and I were trying to figure out if we could fit one in the Jeep, but ended up deciding there wasn't quite enough trunk space... but I really love the red.

New favorite coffee spot. Yall. SO GOOD! And its necessary for photo-ops.

We didn't take a whole lot of pictures for kayaking, only one of us brought a phone for fear of water damage, but we had so much fun kayaking through the mangroves!

Dry Tortugas

I'm going to share more on this gorgeous park later - but for now I wanted to share just a few of the pictures that I liked from the island and from the ferry there!
