Refresh Your Bedroom With Walmart!

Waking up on days where I don't actually have to get out of bed at the sound of my alarm clock is one of my most favorite feelings. Even though my bedroom is one of the last rooms on my list of home projects, I spent a lot of time up front making sure the actual bed was cozy and comfortable, and now that I've finished up a lot of other projects, I feel ready to start brainstorming ideas for what I want to do with the rest of the space.

Below, you can see step by step to see how I would decorate this sketched bedroom, taking it from an empty space to a room full of boho/mid-century style. I've rounded up some of my favorites from Walmart's home section, that I'm adding to my ideas list for when I eventually re-do my room! I love pretty much everything from the Mid-Century Style section. But I also wanted to include some specific favorites that you can check out below!

EMPTY ROOM

Super basic room with good bones, and I'm assuming you (& I) already have the bed basics like a mattress and sheets.

When I was creating this drawing, I imagined my perfect room, where I could situate the bed in between two big windows (preferably that face West, or North/South)... Now, my bed is in the corner of the room, up against one window and with a window next to it. I've also tried pushing the bed up against the window that is centered on the smaller wall, but it makes for an awkward amount of space in front of the closet.

ADD SOME BEDDING

So I all I added here was a quilt/sham set, and some pillows & wall art. What I love about this bedding is that it would be SO EASY to pair with different colors and decor styles and would work with anything.

1. Mainstays Vanilla Emma Solid Basketweave Quilt and Shams

2. Better Homes and Gardens Lurex Chevron Knot Corsair (In the Magenta & Blue colors!)

3. Loloi 20" Round Contemporary Poly Pillow in Brown

4. Geometric Triangle Line Drawing Modern Contemporary Trendy Abstract Black & White Canvas Art by Pied

FILLING OUT THE BEDSIDE SPACE

The first thing on my list of things to buy for my room (once my budget allows) is a pair of matching bedside tables. I love how much character they can add to a room. And then of course, I felt like the rug does a fantastic job of bringing some of out those blues from the pillows! I think rugs are the perfect bedroom addition, whether you have hardwoods or carpet.

For me, having a lamp by the bed is a MUST, not just for aesthetics, but also because once I crawl in, I rarely want to leave the blankets to turn off the light. And adding a little greenery to the other bedside table can work wonders to liven up a space!

5. Walker Edison Retro Modern End Table

6. nuLOOM Persian Vintage Raylene Area Rug

7. Better Homes and Gardens White Wash Faceted Faux Wood Table Lamp

8. D&W Silks Fiddle Leaf Fig Branches in Blue Glass Vase

LET'S ADD A FEW MORE ACCENTS

I loved the greenery on the end table so much that I decided to balance it out with some pothos plants over the bed, and then a faux fiddle leaf fig on the other side (because the real ones are way too finicky for this girl!)

9. Nearly Natural 4.5' Fiddle Leaf Fig in White Planter, Real Touch

10. Walnut Avenue Scented Candle, Mahogany Driftwood

11. Philodendron Hanging Basket Silk Plant

12. Globe Electric 60 Watt Beaugard 5-Light Matte Black Chandelier with Antique Brass Sockets

FINISHING TOUCHES

I am always searching for ways to add storage to my house. Whether it's for throw pillows, extra blankets, or the pile of laundry I should be doing right now, I think this set of baskets would be the perfect addition to this space! They'd be the perfect spot to throw the extra pillows when you're ready to crawl in for the evening, or you could get a basket with a lid to hide the laundry.

13. Woven Seagrass Basket,  Jute Brown

14. Timeless Set of 3 Shoelace and Raffia Woven Baskets

15. Saro Multicolor Woven Design Fringe Throw
