Ways to Relax After Work

You may have seen this on Instagram last week, but I got a new job!!! I’m so excited to have gotten started and I love it so far!! That being said, going from my desk job at the museum to a job where I’m on my feet most of the day has taken some getting used to! Today I wanted are a few tips that I’ve been leaning on to help unwind after I get home.

Turn Down Bright Lights

After a long day at work, especially on days that I work the closing shift, I like to make everything at home feel super cozy and calm. One of the best ways I’ve been able to do this is to turn down the lights in my living room

Light a Candle

Once I’ve turn off a lot of the lamps, I like to have a candle burning to help with the calm atmosphere; the Rustic Woodlands scent form Pier 1 is one of my current favs!

Put On Good Music

My favorite right now is a playlist I made on Spotify over the summer, it’s upbeat, happy, energetic (but not like “woah”) songs that are great for painting, cleaning, or sitting with a book after work.

Read

Speaking of books, I just started a really, really great one that I can’t wait to share with ya’ll really soon! For now, what’s your favorite book that you’ve read lately?

Yoga

Doing some yoga, especially static, restorative poses, is such a great way to unwind after a crazy day on your feet at work! Think: Child’s Pose, Half Pigeon, Reclining Bound Angle, Supported Heart Opener, and Leg’s-Up-On-The-Wall poses.

What are some of your favorite ways to unwind after a long day?
