Interior Spaces | 3 Reasons You Should Spend Your Next Coffee Break Reading About Heritage Style Decor

Happy Fourth of July, friends!!!

Last night was my last night visiting with my family, so we decided to have some fun with some sparklers.

I was a little nervous about them at first, but ended up having so much fun!!

My favorite new coffee place.. If only it wasn't a full plane ride away.

This week, while I was researching whats going on in the world of home decorating, and I discovered Heritage Style! I really can't believe its something that I hadn't read about before. But I feel like its really what my house "feels" like.

Ignore my Giant Pile of Books! i've grown quite the collection for school! The table was originally in my parents house & I love it!

1. Wanting to fill your space with Classic style furniture, antiques, and heirlooms? Click Here to view the Williams-Sonoma Heritage "Shop the Look" page – lots of pieces that I'll be trying to replicate or find in a thrift store soon!

2. Heritage Stye can be really budget friendly! Especially if you're like me and the majority of your furniture is made up of pieces given to you from family members or found at thrift stores. In my space, I think I try for more of a "Modern Heritage Style" where I blend in some modern elements with my older peices. Sometimes all they need is a little bit of TLC and they'll look good as new! I have a few pieces that I'm going to reupholster at some point, I'll keep you updated!

3. Another aspect of heritage style is hightlighting the charming features already inside your home – like, crownmolding, high ceilings, wood floors, old windows, chair rails and wainscoting. This can also be area-specific, like the Texas homes featured on Fixer upper that have shiplap in the walls. Even though I don't have shiplap in my walls, I'm dreaming of adding some on as an accent wall in a room or two ;)
